How to assess your chances
I am not qualified to answer this question, but there are several ways in which you can find this out for yourself. I can only say that, before you download the app forms and go through the trauma of gathering all 2,010 original, unabridged documents required and the fees to go with it, make sure you have enough points or money.
1 There are plenty of government web sites that will help you. Try canada.co.za's online assessment form for individual applicants. The site also explains all the categories under which you could apply - eg, if you're an entrepreneur, you fall into a different category. It's all there. You can even get application forms online.
2 Emigration consultants will usually assess your eligibility before taking your money for obvious reasons. You can then decide whether you want to use a consultant or go it alone.
3 Consult an emigration attorney. They are expensive, but some people swear this is the best route. This costs! You can get a free points assessment online from canadianvisa.com - this is the web site for a law firm based in Toronto. I did not use them, I only had them assess me. You won't get a detailed analysis, only a yes or no.
